16 inches

Life

”You sure 16 inches? Not cm, ya?” asked the print lady.
”Yup 16 inches. I’ll collect it after lunch!” I replied gleefully, eager to see my work printed.
This ritual of mine has grown to be a personal reminder that ”if you can think it, you can do it”.

Except, yesterday was the first time I printed something as large as 16 inches. By accident (whoops).
Despite receiving compliments, I remember feeling unworthy and embarrassed upon collection.
”Who are you to print something that big?” my mind echoed. “You’re not good enough,” it whispered.

Mean, right? But hey, we all have these inner demons, I’m sure. Always watching, always judging.
They used to affect my mood and make me doubtful about my decisions. It sucked.
Nowadays, I treat their words like clouds in the sky, watching them fly by my mind’s eye.

We are our harshest critics and in a weird, twisted way, I believe they mean well.
Because, someone’s gonna talk smack one day and they’re preparing us for what’s to come.
Therefore, they come up with the meanest things to say before anyone else does.

Anyway, I printed 24 out of 31 of my Wolftober project.
It’s such a good feeling in hindsight and as I’m typing this, I’m uploading my wip videos.
I’ll still have to make edits before posting, but here’s a sneak peek!
