web design, client work

Somewhere between working on clients’ work and listening to Second Wind by Healy, I had an epiphany about my website. Looking back, its only mission was to act as a portfolio but the more I’ve been building, the more my website has grown, and I’m seeing the potential that it can be more than what it is.
It’s been 5 years since I created my first website and a lot has changed. If websites are houses, I’ve moved 3 times – first on Wix, then Webflow, and currently, Squarespace. This house is undoubtedly the most progress I’ve made since I’ve begun. I’ve painted over the walls, tore them down, used different furnitures, put up paintings – I really like this place so far.
Here’s the thing: my professional work and passion projects have been roommates for some years now. Like most of us, they have their quirks and it took some persuasion, but they’re largely in agreement now and get along pretty well. They share a bunkbed, cook their own meals and live similar routines, it’s rather peaceful at times. But they’re starting to outgrow the shared space like two plants in the same pot. They’re both reaching for more room to grow, and I’m a good landlord.
So, I’ve been thinking of adding a new room. I’m trying to keep things minimalistic because I want it to be a home, not a house. I believe less rooms create more room, higher vibrations and good company for quality interactions. That said, I’ve been working on it and am very eager to share but it’s a total mess right now, there’s a hole in the wall, the circuitries aren’t installed yet and boxes everywhere. It might take some time, cause I may have to get some new furniture but hey, I totally get it if you want a sneak peek so feel free to dm me for the password and let me know what you think!
Just be careful of the broken glass and please don’t open the red door.
