3 weeks down, 1 more week to go.
Doing this for the third week has made me that I’ve grown a lot more comfortable using brushes.
There was a point in time where I felt unconfident in my brush strokes and choice of colours.
As a result, I leaned very heavily on the outline of my sketches - like a crutch.
But I don’t see that anymore and I believe the reason for that I’m more forgiving with my mistakes.
I used to backtrack a lot more and fix every minute detail which made things look more unnatural.
Now I go “whoops, oh well, let’s keep going” - it’s freeing and relevant to living life too.
But every once in awhile, I make a big mistake and it really bothers me.
This happened on Day 18 where I painted over the main layer and realised way too late for cmd+z to save it.
I was really tired at the time and was ready to scrap it but I’m glad I kept going cause I was pleasantly surprised.
I suppose this is what Bob Ross meant by “we don’t make mistakes, only happy accidents”.
