Life
travel, conference, family

When 2025 started, I promised to invest more in myself. A lot more.
Having isolated myself from social media for the last few years, I knew I needed to kickstart my networking skills again.
That’s when I decided to attend my first conference ever: Chris Do in Singapore. I learned a lot, and shared the experience over here.
This month, I’m heading to my second conference in Denmark.
I’ve never been there, so I’m really excited and here’s the thing: it’s about product design, ecommerce, UI/UX – none of which are my expertise. New country, new perspective, new people. What better way to expand my knowledge in design and perspective of the world at the same time?
The event is called Future Product Days (FPD) and if you’re in product design, UI/UX or ecommerce, I’d love to connect, learn and share experiences. I’ll also do my best to share what I find valuable from the event.
Status update
I arrived at KLIA an hour ago and was looking for a quiet place to work. 4 lounges caught my eye and upon inspection, I learned that each of them catered to specific groups: airline-invitation only, exclusivity (VIP), premium (RM250+) and budget (RM22+). Nice try, capitalism. I went with an RM6 alternative: a bottle of airport water for a quiet corner in PAUL’s cafe.
Speaking of which, I find that airport water is a reminder that sometimes all it takes is a relocation to reevaluate your self-worth.
As I’m typing this, my peace is interrupted by a rowdy Indian family of ten who fill the seats in front of me. They make small talk and exchange jokes, while sharing Burger King french fries of laughter. It makes me think about my own family and how distance makes the heart grow. Like that Emily King song. I never used to think about it but any day could be anyone else’s last. I’m no exception, and the thought of that has been motivating me to cherish the little moments along the way.
It’s also why I intend to keep improving myself. Personal investment once felt selfish, but now I see it differently. While growth may begin within, it will always spread outwards. Into relationships, business and life.
