hyrox, training, running

If my life were an anime, these few weeks have been one of those filler arcs.

No plot twists or grand reveal, just me keeping my clients happy while training and creating content.
In the rhythm of things, I noticed that work I’m doing is resonating differently across platforms and people.
So, I figured I’d share my thoughts on the process so far.

1. Work

This has gotten pretty interesting over the last few months because it’s been around 6 months since quitting my 9-to-5. In hindsight, I was well-supported by my boss and project managers during client conversations. Sitting beside them made communication look deceptively easy.

Now that I’m wearing all the hats, I understand how hard it really is, especially while doing the work at the same time. It’s tiring, and yeah, admin work feels like a drag but I’m learning a lot and the discomfort is proof that I’m where I need to be.

What I didn’t anticipate was recording my client conversations like one of those cold-calling videos on Instagram. What’s surprising is that some of those clips did numbers, so I’m convinced that something’s working. Just gotta keep my head down and put in more reps.

2. Fitness

I’ve been training with my imaginary Hyrox team. It’s an event which requires you to run 1km, followed by a functional exercise for 8 times repeatedly. January’s serving as my testing ground. We’re a little over 2 weeks into the month right now and I’m able to chain 3 different exercises together. It’s not bad, but I definitely need to step it up if I want to increase my stamina.

Since an injury 2+ years ago, it’s been a slow and humbling journey to rebuild my strength. It’s wild how much progress you can lose in the span of few month. Despite that, staying consistent with what I could do paid of. Since last year, I started hitting new PRs in my lifts again. It’s been encouraging to know that I’m started to getting stronger, which has given me the momentum and confidence to tackle Hyrox.

3. Content

I’ve been trying to show up daily for in the fitness and creative spaces. I’m having fun bringing ideas to life cause I’m starting to get the basics down for DaVinci Resolve so I’m slowly moving away from After Effects. It’s a good feeling. Adobe can suck it with their subscription fees.

That aside, I’m glad I decided to document my process over the last few years. I thought I’d be more overwhelmed but having an archive of images and videos has made it pretty manageable.

Most people skip filler arcs, but I’m glad I’m living through this one.
