INKTOBER
2022
It is a tradition of mine to experiment creatively every October. In 2022, I created imaginary album covers, 31 days of designing to songs over Covid. It features some of my favourite artists like Frank Ocean, Mac Miller, SZA and keshi. This project was also my 'photobashing' lab rat. Cheers to all the creatives from Pinterest and Unsplash, known or unknown, who contributed to the experiment.

DID YOU KNOW?
The concept was to redesign each song's album cover through my own lens. The track list included a mix of personal favourites and whatever Spotify shuffled up. It started as a pure photobashing exercise, then turned animations halfway through.

CHALLENGE
The Challenge
I went into this with an open mind, minimal design structure and a playlist of songs. It was mostly my artistic instinct doing the driving, and I capped myself at two hours a night to finish one album cover.
STRATEGIES
& Solutions
Because I went with an artist's mindset, I let the songs lead themselves — looping a track until the music video's visuals or lyrics sparked an idea. Without fully realising it at the time, my design process settled into four stages every night: source, design, sync, animate.
