Life
recap, growth

This year I created a self portrait of myself on my birthday. I’ve been planning to do so for awhile, yet I procrastinated till the very last day but I’m glad I followed through. I was hesitant because I know my art style has changed, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I don’t think it’s better or worse, just different but one thing’s for sure, I feel a lot more confident with brushes and am less reliant on outlines.
I’m not sure what that means for upcoming projects but I am sure that a quarter of the year has passed. This year is going by fast but looking back at what I’ve experimented with in the last few months is reassuring. I’m storytelling, learning new software, sharing about my fitness and creative processes. To be honest, it was challenging to post at that frequency so it’s made me reconsider my approach and what I should prioritise on for the upcoming months.
On the list, quality is indubitably at the top. There are many ways to go about it but I’m going to start with higher quality thumbnails. They do not need to look impeccable, but it does need to be purposeful. Something that should direct the user’s attention and give them an insight to what it is. In conjunction to that, there’s also other things to consider: storytelling, videography, systems, etc.
Unfortunately, I don’t have all the answers right now; fortunately, I know how to find them. For now, I’ll just improvise as I keep going. Just like painting a self portrait.
