I made 2 reels over the last week. I created 1 as a reference point in the beginning, but the momentum implored me to take things further. So, I’ve been finding ways to fit my workout videos in between. Truthfully, some edits felt really forced and cringey which is expected… I guess? I realise most creatives don’t share their faces, let alone their fitness journey. Right now, I’m seeing what works while doing it my way.

Anyway, here are some things that are working (so far):
-
Filming from different angles, it helps to have options and makes transitions captivating
- Organising my working files (graphic elements, sfx, etc), makes the editing process smoother
- Selecting a song/audio before the editing process, it helps establish a mood
- Editing based on the rhythm is safe, simple and a good tempo can be hypnotic to watch
- Going with the flow, sometimes mistakes are what create uniqueness
- Including a voiceover, it sets a tone and adds to a level of storytelling (jokey, educational, etc)
- Bloopers are great, it adds personality which can make it more engaging
