Since young, anime has served a positive impact in my journey as a person. To commemorate my appreciation of it, I created this passion project as a reminder in the form of pixel art. It stars some of the best iconic scenes and characters from One Punch Man, One Piece, Vinnland Saga, etc.

This series is the fusion of my obsession with rogue indie games and anime. The One Punch Man piece is what kicked the whole series off, and a few mini games came out of this series using the same pixelated characters. I even printed some artwork across a range of sizes.

CHALLENGE
Obstacles
Getting every character proportionate to their original designs was a constant discipline check, on top of holding myself accountable to deadlines for a passion project with no external pressure. Layering the dithering technique convincingly across multiple levels added another layer of difficulty, literally.
STRATEGIES
& Solutions
I built a self-made template to standardise pixel sizing across the whole series, then worked through a running list of characters to draw daily rather than picking at random. I used third-party brushes for dithering, which saved precious time and raised the finish quality too.
